I've been keeping really busy with Emo Night stuff lately... and I think it's time to start showing some of it off! The first thing is this new website.

I've been working on it slowly over the last year and it's basically my "dream website." It's super easy to keep updated, takes requests and sends them directly to my DJ equipment, and provides up-to-date information about all of our events.

One section I'm really proud of is our band profile section. For most bands in our database, we have a complete Pittsburgh concert history, so you can look back and remember some of your favorite shows in Pittsburgh history! Soon you'll have the ability to share pictures from those shows and keep track of which shows you've been to.

Emo Night last weekend was pretty great, though I'd have liked another 40-50 people to have been in the room. It was busy... don't get me wrong, but I've been really thirsty for one of those "overwhelmingly packed" kinds of nights this winter. Maybe it'll help with the seasonal affective disorder (even though our next event is basically spring).

I want to shout out everyone who got my attention to stop the music and get help when the man was hurt early in the night. He'd been drinking a bit and neglecting his diabetes medication and took a pretty nasty fall. I want to give an even bigger shout out to everyone who helped clean the man up, give him attention, and get him medical attention.

That kind of threw me for the next hour or so, but I think we had a pretty excellent night. Photos are coming soon (in our gallery) from our friend Chad - who was shooting the room (and running lights) for us. Super appreciative of his help.

I was really excited to tell everyone the news that in the coming months, we're going to be running our own venue. I'll post more about that in the coming months, but I'm grateful for the kind words from everyone during and after the event.

Next show is going to be on March 21st as an afterparty to a show with some bands. The next official Emo Night is on March 27th at the Stage at Squirrel Hill Sports Bar and we're getting really stoked for this one. We've made some upgrades to lights and sound and we're excited to show off.

With our new request system set up and working, you're going to hear more of what you want... so start getting your requests in now.
